Head & Neck Surgery Center

Head and Neck Surgery Center, L.L.C. is an ambulatory surgery center located at Ear, Nose, and Throat, & Facial Plastic Surgery, P.A. The center, in operation since 1988, is fully accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Healthcare (AAAHC). The facility has been accredited since 1990, and is one of the first ambulatory surgery centers fully accredited as a single-specialty outpatient facility in the state of Mississippi. The center is also Medicare accredited. Recent statistics show approximately 700 to 800 cases being performed in the ambulatory surgery center on a yearly basis.

The physicians who staff the ambulatory surgery center are all board certified. The surgeons are members or Ear, Nose, and Throat, & Facial Plastic Surgery, P.A. The surgeons also have full staff privileges at both hospitals in Hattiesburg including the hospital’s outpatient surgery centers. The anesthesiologists are practicing physicians in Hattiesburg, MS. All physicians, surgeons, and anesthesiologists are credentialed by The Verification Group of Jackson, MS in full compliance with NCQA guidelines.

Other staff includes two registered nurses and two surgical technicians. The physicians on staff are certified in advanced cardiac life support and pediatric advanced life support. These certifications are also held by the two registered nurses.

The center is conveniently located at Ear, Nose, and Throat, & Facial Plastic Surgery, P.A. A separate entrance/exit to the center facilitates privacy and convenience to the patients. With the center’s convenient location, patients experience a friendly atmosphere with uninterrupted service. The center is equipped with the latest and most up-to-date surgical and medical monitoring equipment. This includes pulse oximetry and electrocardiographic intra-operative monitoring. Laser equipment is also available for use at the center.

The recovery process, at the center, involves a step-down approach. Patients are directly monitored in the immediate post-operative period by a registered nurse. An additional period of time, under the supervision of a registered nurse, is spent with the patient and their family prior to discharge.

The complete stay at the center is under the direct supervision of the physician who is on site at all times.

Ear, Nose, and Throat, & Facial Plastic Surgery, P.A. along with Head & Neck Surgery Center, L.L.C. was notified in October 2003 that it successfully completed the recent accreditation process by AAAHC and the accreditation was extended for three years.
