Dr. Curtis Scott Childress
Dr. Childress is board certified in Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery. His practice includes all aspects of general otolaryngology including facial plastic surgery. He provides treatment of adult and pediatric patients with problems of the ear, nose, throat, sinuses and head and neck malignancies. Dr. Childress has a special interest in the diagnosis and treatment of allergies.
Born and raised in Clinton, Mississippi, he graduated from Clinton High School. He then went on to the University of Mississippi where he earned his BS in Engineering and was a member of the Tau Beta Pi Engineering Honor Society.
Dr. Childress obtained his medical degree from the University of Mississippi Medical Center School of Medicine. While in medical school he was selected in AOA and Phi Kappa Phi Honor Societies and was selected as the Mississippi/Louisiana Otolaryngology Society Student of the Year. He then completed his internship and residency at the University of Mississippi Medical Center.
After completing his residency, Dr. Childress began his practice in Columbus, Mississippi before moving to Hattiesburg and joining the Ear, Nose, Throat and Facial Plastic Surgery, P.A. group in 2004. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for Hub South of Mississippi.
The American Board of Otolaryngology requires each physician to be recertified every ten years. This evaluates an Otolaryngologist’s continuing competence through evidence of continuing medical education, credentialing and examinations. Dr. Childress has just recently received his recertification by the American Board of Otolaryngology.
Dr. Childress is married to Kelly Revels Childress, a native of Hattiesburg. Together they have three daughters, Catherine and twins Sarah and Margaret. He is a member of First Presbyterian Church of Hattiesburg. In his free time you will find Dr. Childress in the great outdoors either hunting or fishing and spending quality time with his family.
